Ingredients:
2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for spiciness)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and whisk the ingredients together until the mixture starts to simmer.
3. Add the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir to combine.
4. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
5. Taste the sauce and adjust the sweetness, tanginess, or spiciness to your preference by adding more honey, vinegar, or cayenne pepper as needed.
6. Once the sauce reaches your desired flavor and consistency, remove it from heat and let it cool slightly.
7. You can use the sauce immediately or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
This sweet and tangy BBQ sauce is perfect for basting grilled meats, as a dipping sauce, or as a marinade.
